Class IX in JNVs	Candidate must be studying in Class VIII in a Government/recognized school during the session 2026-27. Must be a bonafide resident of the district where the JNV is located. District of residence and district of Class VIII study must be the same. Date of Birth between 01 May 2012 to 31 July 2014. Only those who have not passed Class VIII before 2026-27 session are eligible. Rural/Urban category is decided based on the school location where Class VIII is studied. If candidate has already appeared for lateral entry test in the previous session, they are not eligible.

Tie-Breaking Rules (if same marks):

Female candidate will be preferred over male candidate.
If tie still exists, candidate with higher marks in Mathematics + Science will be preferred.
If still tie, candidate with higher marks in all 4 subjects will be preferred.
If still tie, younger candidate will be preferred.
